5 Great Ways to Wrap-Up London Tech Week!

With over 300 events and 50,000 attendees, London Tech Week can be overwhelming for even the most dedicated. Such an epic week deserves to go out with a bang! That’s why we put together this short list of 5 great ways to wrap-up London Tech Week. (In no certain order - we love all LTW events equally! :)

NEWLY ADDED: GovTech Summer Drinks - Friday, 15 June @ 5pm

Please join John Manzoni (Chief Executive of the Civil Service), Theo Blackwell (Chief Digital Officer, GLA) and Daniel Korski (CEO, PUBLIC) as we raise a glass to the progress of GovTech over the last six months, and look ahead to an even more exciting second half of 2018.

The GovTech Summer Drinks will take place between 17:00-19:00, Friday 15th June @ Central Working Victoria, Eccleston Yards, 25 Eccleston Place, London, SW1W 9NF. Spaces will be limited. Please RSVP in advance to ensure attendance.

5. Smart City Happy Hour & Hack Day - Saturday, 16 June @ 8:00am

Have ideas on how to improve your city through tech?

Come join this hack day focused on designing and prototyping ideas to make a city more efficient and enjoyable. The Tech Nation Visa Alumni Group has organized this hack day in partnership with our sponsors Entrepreneur First and CompareTheMarket.com. In addition to Visa Alumni this hack day is open to anyone interested in the enhancement of our cities through tech.

If you haven’t done a hackathon before or aren’t a developer, don’t worry – this hack day welcomes all levels of hack experience and a range of skill sets; please be sure to note your background when submitting an application to join.

4. Goodnight Disruption: a Tech Week party by CoTech - Friday, 15 June @ 7pm

Party with the people creating a new kind of tech industry

Meet, hear from and party with the people creating a new kind of tech industry, through tech companies owned and controlled by the people who do the work. Discover the innovation projects designed and built by the 32 CoTech company members; meet the young coding graduates of the latest Founders & Coders cohort; and throw off the tired cliches of disruption to instead discuss innovation, prototyping and positive social impact.

7pm doors open, quickfire speeches from Tech for Good trailblazers at 8pm, then a dance floor from 9.

3. London Tech Week Upstream Meetup & Drinks - Friday, 15 June @ 6pm

Upstream Friday meetup - connect with the growing tech & creative sectors in West London

Upstream is here to support the growing innovation, tech and creative communities in Hammersmith & Fulham. Join us in Huckletree West in White City to meet with some of the most exciting startups and scaleups and connect with like minded people from the tech and creative sectors to find out why the borough is becoming one of the best places to work and play.

2. Behind The Curtain London Tech Week Special! - Friday, 12 June @ 6pm

The first of its kind ‘secret’ live chat show!

Can you keep a secret? The Startup Van have collaborated with WeWork on a new show called ‘Behind The Curtain’. A one-of-kind event where the identity of the guest entrepreneur is hidden from the audience in the lead up to the Curtain drop. The London Tech Week Special is taking place on the rooftop of WeWork London Fields! We can’t tell you who the mystery guests will be but we can give you a few hints.

In three short hours, Tech Connect will take you through London's world of startups and understand how the tech scene is transforming industries and society. For this special edition event, they’ll be bringing in some of London's biggest success stories to talk about how London has contributed to their growth journeys.

Tech City Intro is designed for those with little knowledge of the startup world, wondering what an accelerator is, and why we talk about unicorns – this course is the perfect start on your journey towards grasping the sector and finding your bearings to make the most of London's startup ecosystem.
