Council approves of 'ambitious' launch of latest business and tech hub just outside London

Sep 5, 2018 ·

Innovation Park Medway - a business, tech and manufacturing campus at Rochester Airport - will officially launch on Tuesday, September 18.

It will be the site of a new business hub, aimed at technology, engineering and manufacturing companies.

Medway Council, of Kent, says it will cover 100,000m² of land, where firms will be able to take advantage of business rate discounts of up to £55k annually for up to five years. Many new jobs are also set to be made available through the new hub.

Councillor Alan Jarrett, leader of Medway Council, said: "The site is so apt having been the home of other pioneering industries and technologies of the past and for the future.

"The site acknowledges our rich heritage and past with aviation, the work of the Short Brothers and of course BAE Systems and the highly innovative work being untaken by them, fusing the past with the present and future developments in aeronautics.
